I Am Learning to Describe my Cat and Publish My Work in Kid Pix

We drew our cats on the computer using Kid Pix. We coloured in the pictures using the paint can. We wrote the words in our story book. We were writing a sentence describing our cat. Then we wrote our story on our Kid Pix picture.

"It was hard to see what colour to choose. It was easy to write the story  because I copied some of the words."

Science is Fun

Today we made popcorn at school. We heated the corn kernels until they popped. The water in the kernels turned to steam. The steam needed more room so the kernels popped and were fluffy and white. It was yummy!

I Am Learning to Say and Write the Numbers Before and After

We are learning to say and write the numbers before and after. If we get stuck we can look at the Pukeko numbers on the wall of our classroom. We can check if we are correct using the numbers on the classroom wall too. Sometimes it is tricky to get the numbers around the right way.

I didn't need any help because I knew them all.

Sunflowers

First we sketched the sunflowers in our sketch books. Then Mrs Grainger enlarged the pictures on the photocopier. We went around our pictures with black felt before we coloured them with pastels.

I Am Learning to Read the Word 'Can'

We were learning about the word 'can'.  We read it in our stories.  We used it in our writing too.
One of our books was called 'I Can, Can You?'.  So I wrote about one of the things that I can do.

"I can find the word 'can' on the alphabet card."

I Am Learning to Write a Sentence

We are learning to write a sentence. We draw our picture first to help us think about what we are going to write. We use our word cards and the words around our classroom to help us too. We will know we are correct when we can see a capital letter at the beginning. We can see a full stop at the end, and our sentence makes sense.

I draw my picture first. The I write my story. I look on the word cards and the walls for my words.
